Trusting the Path You Can’t See
Have you ever felt frustrated because life wasn’t going the way you planned? Like, you were ready, thought you had it all figured out, and yet…nothing? I was listening to this podcast recently, and the host said something that hit me so hard: “God’s GPS is different than ours” (and if you think of it as the Universe, the Divine, or a Higher Power instead, that works too, the message is the same).
It made me think of this actress’s testimony that I heard years ago. She had been waiting for a role she’d been praying for, and it hadn’t come yet. At first, it might have felt frustrating, like she was being left behind. But then she realized something powerful. God was guiding her, preparing her in ways she didn’t even know were happening. She wasn’t ready yet, and if that opportunity had come too soon, she might have fumbled it. When the time finally came, she was ready. Everything fell into place seamlessly. That’s the lesson: delays aren’t punishment. Detours aren’t mistakes. They’re preparation.
Think about it for a second. There’s been a time, hasn’t there, when you wanted something so badly, and it just didn’t happen? A job, a relationship, a move, a choice you thought was going to change everything. And now, looking back…aren’t you actually glad it didn’t?
Right now, I’m in this season of trusting. Blindly trusting. Letting go of the illusion that I’m in control. And let me tell you, it’s freeing. Truly freeing.
Your purpose in this season isn’t to cure diseases, create world peace, or make monumental waves (though I hope some of us do, I really do). Your purpose is simpler, but no less powerful. It’s to become the best version of yourself. Show up. Do the work. Grow. Align with your highest self. When you do that, love, abundance, and happiness naturally find you. You’re vibrating at a higher frequency without even forcing it.
Take a moment. Really pause. Look back on your life. Remember the jobs you didn’t get, the relationships that ended, the moves you couldn’t make, the opportunities that slipped through your fingers. If those things had happened when you wanted, would you have been ready? Most likely, God’s timing kept you safe, prepared, and aligned for what was truly yours.
Here’s another truth I’ve been feeling lately. You are God, in a way. Not all-knowing, not all-powerful, but divine, connected, part of something bigger. And so is everyone else. The people around you, the neighbor, the grocery clerk, the stranger you pass, they’re all connected to the same source. That’s why grace is so important. Give yourself grace. Give others grace. When life pushes you to react instead of respond, pause and ask yourself, “What would God do? How would God be?” Living from that space changes everything.
God’s GPS is different than ours, and that’s a beautiful thing. Even when it feels confusing, even when the delays seem endless, trust that everything is unfolding exactly as it should. Your job isn’t to control it. It’s to flow, grow, and show up as the best version of yourself. Trust the timing. Trust the process. And above all, trust that when it’s from God, everything will fall into place seamlessly.
Breathe. Reflect. Relax. You’re exactly where you need to be.
