“Your current chapter may look quiet, but that doesn’t mean nothing is happening beneath the surface.”
Recently, I found myself reflecting on the different seasons of life.
Not the seasons we see outside our windows, but the ones we experience within ourselves.
And I realized something that completely shifted my perspective:
The season you are currently living through may not always match the season happening around you.
Imagine it’s summer.
The air is warm. The days are longer. Everything feels alive. People are making memories, traveling, celebrating, and embracing the energy that comes with the season.
But internally, you may be experiencing winter.
You may be in a season of preparation.
A season of going inward.
A season where things feel slower, quieter, and less visible.
And for a long time, we may mistake that stillness for being stuck.
But winter was never meant to be a season of failure.
Winter has a purpose.
Nature doesn’t rush through winter asking why nothing is blooming yet. It understands that there is work happening beneath the surface.
Roots are growing.
Energy is being restored.
The ground is preparing for what is to come.
And sometimes, that is exactly where we are in life.
We are gathering the tools we need. We are healing parts of ourselves. We are learning lessons that will prepare us for the next chapter. We are becoming someone who can hold the things we have been asking for.
Growth doesn’t always look like movement.
Sometimes growth looks like patience.
Sometimes growth looks like choosing yourself again.
Sometimes growth looks like quietly building a foundation that nobody else can see.
I’ve realized that I am currently in a season of growth. A season where I am learning, expanding, and becoming more aligned with who I am meant to be.
And I think that’s why this realization came to me.
Because when you’re in the middle of your own journey, it’s easy to look around and wonder why your life doesn’t look like someone else’s.
Why haven’t I bloomed yet?
Why does it feel like everyone else is moving forward?
But the truth is, you may not be behind.
You may simply be in a different season.
Someone else’s spring does not mean your winter is wrong.
Someone else’s harvest does not mean your seeds aren’t growing.
You weren’t there when they were planting. You weren’t there when they were watering. You weren’t there during their moments of uncertainty, loneliness, healing, and preparation.
You are only seeing the bloom.
And comparison becomes painful when we compare our behind-the-scenes to someone else’s highlight.
One day, you will know when your spring arrives.
You will see the seeds you planted begin to grow.
The things you worked on quietly will become visible.
The things you prayed for, prepared for, and stayed committed to will begin unfolding in ways you couldn’t have imagined.
But every season has its own timing.
Your life does not need to look like someone else’s to be meaningful.
Your path does not need to make sense to everyone else.
People don’t have to understand the life you’re called to live.
They’re not the ones living it.
You are.
So don’t fight the season you’re in.
Honor it.
Rest when you need rest.
Prepare when you need preparation.
Move when it’s time to move.
Bloom when it’s time to bloom.
You are not meant to stay the same forever. Just like nature, you are constantly changing, growing, and evolving.
The season you’re in is not permanent.
It is simply preparing you for the next one.
You are exactly where you need to be.
And instead of resisting the flow of life, allow yourself to move with it.
Because you were never meant to live according to someone else’s script.
You were always meant to write your own.
Written with love,
Impera
